Betty Allen, MD
I am currently a general surgery resident at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my bachelor’s degree in Biological sciences with a specialization in Endocrinology at the University of Chicago and completed medical school training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My research is focused on investigating the pathophysiological processes involved in the transition of postcapillary pulmonary hypertension, a reversible condition, to combined pre- and postcapillary pulmonary hypertension (cpc-PH), an irreversible condition, in the setting of left heart disease. From that, we hope to develop targets for possible pharmaceutical therapies to treat cpc-pulmonary hypertension.
