Lab Members Featured in American Physiological Society Podcast

In a recent episode, Dr. Zamaneh Kassiri interviews our lab members and collaborators (Dr. Oliver H. Wearing, Dr. Naomi C. Chesler, Dr. Mitchel J. Colebank, Dr. Timothy A. Hacker, Dr. John N. Lorenz, and Dr. Christopher R. West), about their Guidelines in Cardiovascular Research article on ventricular pressure-volume (PV) measurements in mice. They discuss why PV is the gold standard for assessing cardiac function and how it complements echocardiography. Tune in to learn more about this essential method for cardiovascular research! Research Manuscript Accepted for Publication in CHEST Journal

We are pleased to announce that the manuscript “Characteristic Pulmonary Impedance with Exercise Detects Abnormal Pulmonary Vascular Response and Uncoupling in PH-HFpEF” has been accepted for publication in CHEST. This collaborative work, led by Christopher G. Lechuga (UCI), Farhan Raza (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Mitchel J. Colebank (UCI), Claudia E. Korcarz (University of Wisconsin-Madison), and Aimee T. Broman, advances our understanding of pulmonary hypertension in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (PH-HFpEF).

Congratulations to the team on this outstanding achievement!

We are thrilled to announce that David Martinez has been selected as a MARC Scholar

We are thrilled to announce that David has been selected as a MARC Scholar. This NIH-funded program supports underrepresented minority researchers in pursuing Ph.D. degrees and careers in biomedical research. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, David!

Amirreza Joins the Chesler Lab!

Amirreza will be joining the lab as a PhD student with a focus on computational modeling. Welcome!

Congratulations to Mitchel for Receiving an NIH TL-1 Fellowship Award!

The fellowship was awarded by the UCI Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS), and focuses on combining in-silico computational modeling with in-vitro and in-vivo experiments to elucidate the role of NO and ET-1 signaling pathways in the progressive remodeling of the pulmonary vasculature in pulmonary hypertension.

Laura R. Caggiano, PhD Joins the Chesler Lab!

Chesler Lab trainees Salla Kim and Christopher Lechuga are named Edwards Lifesciences Center T32 CARE trainees – congratulations to both!

Mitchel Colebank, PhD joins the Chesler Lab!

Cassie Conway, PhD joins the Chesler Lab!
